Fast facts
Practice type: Private
Specialties: Autoimmune conditions, cosmetic care, infertility, pregnancy and labor support, women’s health
Styles: Facial rejuvenation acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

Why did you become an acupuncturist?
I became an acupuncturist, herbalist, and author of health and wellness books because I have a passion and desire to help people reach their own individual optimal health and fertility.

What distinguishes you from other acupuncturists?
As well as practicing for almost a decade, I am a published author of health, wellness, and fertility focused books. I am an avid professional who is considered one of the nation’s leading alternative health, wellness, and fertility experts.

What do you enjoy most about your work?
Helping my patients find peace, joy, and optimum health in a way that works for them.

What is the biggest misconception you hear about acupuncture?
Acupuncture to me is much more than just needles—it is a way of life, as acupuncture is just one facet of Traditional Oriental Medicine. I work with my patients on a much deeper emotional, spiritual, and nutritional level. Acupuncture is just one of my many tools.

How do you stay healthy in your own life?
I practice what I preach. I eat clean. I meditate. I find joy in my every day. I get acupuncture. I am constantly tuned in to the environment around me. I am always eager to learn more.

Fast facts
Practice type: Private
Specialties: Addiction, anxiety, general wellness, insomnia, stress, psychological and spiritual healing
Styles: Five Element acupuncture, Alchemical Acupuncture

Why did you become an acupuncturist?
I was motivated by a desire to find a more effective way to change how human beings live and interface with their environment. I believed that Traditional Chinese Medicine could help me accomplish my goal—to help people remember the wisdom of their own bodies and of the natural world, to become re-enchanted with the intricate collage of flesh, hunger, heart-throb, desire, love and loss that is the true matrix of human life.

What distinguishes you from other acupuncturists?
My work is about transformation not restoration, about discovering new possibilities rather than quick fixes. My goal is to support you in discovering the most meaningful, exciting and valuable way to live your life. Unlike many acupuncturists, I see only one patient at a time. Each one-hour session is a deeply personal engagement where I join my patients in discovering the connecting links between their physical, emotional and spiritual symptoms and issues. My work, Alchemical Acupuncture, is about discovering the gold in the symptoms and challenges of our lives.

What do you enjoy most about your work?
I am passionate about people discovering their most empowered authentic selves. Whether it begins with a physical symptom or an emotional block, the healing journey is always an opportunity to discover more about who we are and what we are here on the planet to accomplish. After 26 years of practice, I am still as excited as ever by how I see patients change in the treatment room. In addition, I am thrilled with my work as a mentor to acupuncturists and healthcare professionals who want to learn how to integrate an alchemical approach into their practice. My Alchemical Healing Mentorship Trainings and workshops at schools and retreat centers around the country have become an important focus of my current work

What is the biggest misconception you hear about acupuncture?
The biggest misconception about acupuncture is that it is primarily a cure for physical pain. For me, the greatest gift this medicine can offer is its capacity to help us to know ourselves not only as physical beings but as energetic entities, multidimensional beings who need to live in harmony with the natural world, the moon, sun, stars and every aspect of the cosmos. Ultimately, as the great original Chinese doctors knew, health is not about getting rid of a headache or back pain—as wonderful as that may be—but about living in harmony with our true natures and recognizing the wisdom and divinity of our own being and the cosmos.

How do you stay healthy in your own life?
Health for me is not a state of being but an ongoing process. Each day is different. Each day my body, mind, spirit asks for something new. I know I am healthy when I am able to listen and respond to my own true needs. Nature, relationships, prayer, touch, live food from loving gardens, vital fresh water, meaningful work, joyous movement…these are the foundation stones of health and the building blocks of a vivid and meaningful life.
