Fast facts
Practice type: Private
Specialties: Anxiety, general wellness, infertility, musculoskeletal pain, sports injuries
Styles: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), trigger point acupuncture, esoteric acupuncture

Why did you become an acupuncturist?
Acupuncture was life changing for me and ultimately sparked the passion to share with others the freedom I found in it. When I first came to acupuncture I was desperate and tired of being in pain and feeling stuck. Acupuncture relieved my debilitating chronic neck pain, soothed my anxiety disorder, and cleared systemic imbalances such as psoriasis when nothing else helped. Most importantly acupuncture gave me access to my authentic self and turned the healing switch in my body to “on.” I’ve always felt called to be of service on a larger scale in terms of life work, and acupuncture answered that call. I chose acupuncture as much as I believe it chose me. I love sharing my stories of hardship and success and consider it an honor to be asked to accompany my patients on their well-being journeys.

What distinguishes you from other acupuncturists?
I see acupuncture as a form of self-care and for many patients an important addition to their spiritual growth. Acupuncture is a heart-opening experience even if you’re simply coming in for physical tune-up or ailment. The experience is going to create and ignite positive change no matter what. I chose private practice so that I could build relationships with my patients, and I provide a safe space within which to delve deep into personal and physical growth and breakthroughs. I absolutely love helping people get out of pain, but what I most adore is working with a patient to make changes towards further freedom from pain and into their happiest self.

What do you enjoy most about your work?
I love everything about my work! Who wouldn’t want to get up everyday and be of help to others doing something so powerfully positive. I get to work for myself, with wonderful patients, and be creative on a daily basis. If I won the lottery I would still give acupuncture.

What is the biggest misconception you hear about acupuncture?
There are sadly many, but the wildest is “I don’t believe in acupuncture.” There is this idea that it’s simply not a real thing. On the flip side there are so many new people being exposed to acupuncture’s life-transforming abilities daily, and I trust in and chose the attraction rather than promotion theory. I believe the timing has to be right and no amount of convincing someone to get “help” is going to work if they are truly not ready or open to it. So we show up for those who ask, the word spreads and broader healing starts to bloom.

How do you stay healthy in your own life?
This is the key. I consistently remember to take care of myself and practice spiritual growth to be able to show up for others. I get acupuncture regularly, dance dance dance, eat foods that feel good including lots of chocolate, I practice yoga, spend time communing with friends and creating sacred spaces, practice qi gong, get massages, laugh and remember to take quiet time for myself everyday.

Fast facts
Practice type: Private
Specialties: General wellness
Styles: Japanese acupuncture, trigger point acupuncture, esoteric acupuncture

Why did you become an acupuncturist?
I became an acupuncturist because I followed a calling to work with the body in addition to the heart and the mind. Studying Tibetan Buddhism, meditation and Dzogchen for many years led me to further my interests in Eastern medicine.

What distinguishes you from other acupuncturists?
My style is continually evolving through the integration of land and water therapies. I draw from my knowledge of esoteric acupuncture, Kiiko Matsumoto, Chinese, Acupuncture Physical Medicine, dry trigger point needling and craniosacral therapy to tailor treatments to each client’s needs. Every physical ailment has an emotional component. Where there is an injury, it is connected to one’s whole being in its totality. Many arrive at acupuncture for therapy in pain. I’m adept at healing the physical and emotional body by removing blockages to release pain, restore calm and allow for deeper and finer frequencies of qi to flow. I’m fun, energetic and compassionate, and deeply connected and present to each client’s healing process. I’m known for my big heart and positive intentions in my work. My focus is on maintaining health and wellness.

What do you enjoy most about your work?
I enjoy helping people to reach their truest potential physically, emotionally and spiritually.

What is the biggest misconception you hear about acupuncture?
The biggest misconception I hear about acupuncture is that it works if you believe it works. Acupuncture is not a matter of belief. It is a system of medicine, thousands of years old, that has healed countless believers and non-believers.

How do you stay healthy in your own life?
I stay healthy in my own life through food, fitness, regular bodywork and plenty of time swimming at the beach.
