Why did you become an acupuncturist?
I was a massage therapist first, for 16 years. I started to have carpal tunnel symptoms. I choose acupuncture to help and I loved it. I have always had a passion for eastern therapy, and becoming an acupuncturist was the next natural evolution in my career path.

What distinguishes you from other acupuncturists?
My goal in practice is to utilize all my eastern knowledge to educate patients to control their health. My main principle stems from the root of Chinese medicine—to treat the root, not just the branch. I have a multidisciplinary setting to provide all patient needs in one facility. It’s a spa-like setting to welcome the five senses to begin a relaxing experience.

What do you enjoy most about your work?
Helping patients achieve health naturally.

What is the biggest misconception you hear about acupuncture?
Many people are unaware of recent clinical science studies that show strong evidence supporting that acupuncture works. There is a science behind acupuncture. As the field grows, a better understanding will emerge through additional studies.

How do you stay healthy in your own life?
I use everything I teach to patients to care for myself. I encourage eating an anti-inflammatory diet, while paying attention to alkaline food choices. I exercise at different levels of intensity for weight loss, vascular strength, and muscular strength. I include relaxation workouts with yoga, tai chi, and meditation. I promote proper water intake based on one’s weight. I encourage daily affirmations and continuing education to keep the mind sharp. All of this combined encompasses total wellbeing.

Do you accept insurance?
