Why did you become an acupuncturist?
I’ve always been interested in Chinese medicine. It seemed so mysterious and I loved that it was so rooted in ancient times. As a naturopath, I felt I was missing something for pain. I went back to school to study acupuncture and then fell in love with treating fertility and pregnancy.
What distinguishes you from other acupuncturists?
I have studied fertility and pregnancy extensively, studying first with Randine Lewis (The Fertile Soul), then taking a intensive internship in China specifically in fertility. I continue to learn from the brightest and the best around the world in the fertility field and have been in practice for over 15 years.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I love my patients! I love the challenges they bring to my clinic. I love helping people regain their health or move forward to achieve their health-related goals.
What is the biggest misconception you hear about acupuncture?
That it hurts! It really doesn’t hurt. When people come in they are surprised at how much it doesn’t hurt. And it is so effective!
How do you stay healthy in your own life?
I meditate twice a day. I eat well. I walk to work when the weather permits.
