Why did you become an acupuncturist?
It was a feeling of being literally transformed! I experienced a personal evolution within my own wellbeing using Chinese medicine. My immune system was stronger and I could breathe more easily, in just two treatments. My experience ignited a desire to facilitate that same profound healing for others to reach their fullest potential. In practice, I enjoy seeing my patients being nourished and finding their bliss through the many layers of health. I love being an acupuncturist.
What distinguishes you from other acupuncturists?
My patients come from all walks of life and I understand the frustration that comes from being bombarded with so many healthcare options. My goal as a practitioner is to provide a practical resolution that is customized for each individual. Together, we isolate the thought patterns and habits that may be inhibiting them from achieving the most exuberant health possible. I also offer Esoteric Acupuncture and Reconnective Healing as ways of restoring the chakras and deeper channels of self healing.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
One of the most enjoyable parts of my profession is seeing every patient walk out the door feeling better than when they came in. One major challenge with the allopathic medical system is that so many people are hurting and unable to find the tools they need. I have the opportunity to give them the tools they need to make extremely empowering changes in their personal health. I have witnessed my patients gain a stronger sense of wellbeing and go on to thrive in other aspects of their lives.
What is the biggest misconception you hear about acupuncture?
People think that if they don’t have pain they will not benefit from acupuncture. In my experience, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Typically, acupuncture stimulates a new level of health previously unknown to the patient. It helps maintain health and prevents chronic illness from developing. In fact, many of my clients continue to come in for acupuncture even after their condition has been resolved.
How do you stay healthy in your own life?
In my own life, I strive for optimal health with regular exercise, moderate living, meditation and daily yoga. Getting out of town with my friends and family, even a small trip, gives me a fresh perspective and balances my heavy work load. Making routine acupuncture and massage a priority keeps me happy and balanced too.
